Obituaries from Clare County Cleaver, August 5, 1999

Wayne Kenneth Powell, 62, of Harrison passed away Thursday, July 29,
1999, at Mid-Michian Regional Medical Center, Midland, Michigan.   Wayne
was born March 20, 1937 in Dimondale, Michigan, the son of Kenneth and
Beulah (Pomeroy) Powell.
     Wayne K. Powell began his love and devotion of 43 years to Yvonne
J. Rogers on June 9, 1956, in Sunfield, Michigan.
     Mr. Powell had resided in the Harrison area since 1983, moving from
Sunfield.  Wayne attended the United Brethern Church of Harrison.  He
was a self-employed upholsterer and worked in maintenance part time at
the Wilson State Park, Harrison.
     Surviving are his wife, Yvonne of Harrison, wo daughtes, Cheryl
Wallum and husband Richard Jr. of Tucson, Arizona and Shelby Crafton and
husband Michael of Harrison, four sons, Steven Powell and wife Carolyn
of New Whiteland, Indiana, David Powell and wife Janice of Sunfield,
Brent Powell and wife Karen of Sunfield and Kevin Powell and wife
Elizabeth of Havelock, North Carolina; ten grandchildren, three sisters,
Gloria Maidens and husband Richard of Bear Lake, Marilyn Carrier, also
of Bear Lake and Judith Evans and husband Dennis of Vermontville; two
brothers Ralph Powell and wife Beverly of Jacksonville, North Carolina,
and Charles Powell and wife Sally of Mesick plus other relatives and
friends.
     Funeral servics were held Saturday, July 31, 1999 a l:00 p.m. from
Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Rev. Lee Palmer officiating. 
Interment was in Pleasant Plains (Hayes Township) Cemetery, Harrison,
Michigan.
