He was a member of St. Athanasius Church for sixty-five years and was given the honor of breaking ground for the new church. Sebastian Pfannes was a living example of what it means to be a Christian. He lived his life in complete harmony with God. He will be remembered for his modest manner and the shining humanity that moved him to be a charitable neighbor and friend. He is survived by four children, Joseph, Carl and Grace, at home, and Mrs. Margaret Gould of Bay City. One brother, John, of Harrison, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. His wife, Margaret, and a son, Herbert, preceded him in death. Requim High Mass was celebrated in St. Athnasius Church, Thursday morning by Rev. Joseph I. Sruba. The Rosary was recited Wednesday evening at the Fanning Funeral Home. August Hoskey, Wm. Hileman, Terry Gould, Ed Moder, Henry Klohan and Henry Heintz served as pallbearers. Interment was made in St. Athanasius Cemetery, Harrison. Eternal rest grant unto him, O, Lord, And let perpetual light shine upon him.
