Mabel Reger Taken By Death

Mrs. Mabel Mae Reger passed away Wednesday, November 15, 1961 at Clare General 
Hospital after suffering an acute heart attack.  She was 78 years of age.

Mabel Huntley was born August 29, 1883, in Stockholm, New York, the daughter 
of Amos and Anna Huntley, coming to Clare County in 1896.  March 1, 1902 she 
was united in marriage to Chris Reger who preceded her in death, July 22, 1951.

To this union was born eight children, five sons and three daughters.  They 
are Harold, Amos and Laurence of Kalamazoo, Gertrude Waite of Largo, Florida, 
Frank of Chico, California, Roy Reger and Marie Horning of Clare.  One 
daughter Velma Baird preceded her in death in 1942.  She also leaves to mourn 
her death 24 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, several cousins, nieces 
and nephews and many friends and neighbors.

Funeral arrangements were by Thurston Funeral Home, with services Saturday, 
November 18, at 2 p.m. from the Church of God with Rev. Harold Messer the 
officiating minister.  Six grandsons served as pallbearers, Stuart and Dean 
Reger of Kalamazoo, Don Reger of Marshall, Chris Reger of Midland, Harold 
Waite of Freeland and Max Waite of Sanford.  “And her children called her 
blessed”.
