ROGERS - Charles A. (Charley)
Rogers, aged 88, of Olds Manor, for-
merly of 1816 Palace Avenue S.W.,
Grand Rapids, died Friday, February
20, 1998 at Kent Community Hospital.
He was born August 14, 1909 at Lake
City, MI the son of the late Charles
(Charley) Rogers and Mabel Yarnell
Rogers.  He was a gradduate of Grand
Rapids South High School and for
many years was a salesman for
Blackmer Pump Company.  He retired
in 1972.  Mr. Rogers was active in civic
affairs, school organizations, and was
a leader in credit union and labor  af-
fairs during his tenure at Blackmer. 
Survivors include two sons and
daughters-in-law, Charles A. (Chip)
and Terri Rogers of Athens, OH and
Joseph (Joe) and Sharon Rogers of
Grand Rapids, five grandaughters,
Maureen Rogers, Shannon Rogers,
Erin Rogers, Jennifer Rogers Byrne
and Kerry Rogers Gasperson; a great
grandson, Connor Rogers-Wartinger
and a sister, Ruby Rogers Musser of 
Grand Rapids.  In addition to his par-
ents, he was preceded in death by his
wife, Eniz Holben Rogers and a sister
(Jenny) Maurine Roe.  Private interment
of cremains will be held at a later
date.  Memorial contributions may be
made to Hospice of Greater Grand
Rapids, 1260 Elkhart N.E., Grand Rap-
ids, MI 49503.  Arrangements by:
Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. S.E.

Additional Comments:
Charley Rogers married Eniz Mae Holben June 15, 1940.  He was the only son of 
Charles Anthony Rogers and Mable Anna Yarnell. Charley and Mabel were married 
in Cadillac, Michigan in 1904.  Mabel was the daughter of Joseph B. and Laura 
E. (Scoville) Yarnell.  Charley and Mable had three children:

Jenny Maurine Rogers (1907-1981) married Roland Gilbert Rowe
Charles Anthony Rogers (1909-1998) married Eniz Mae Holben
Ruby Adelaide Rogers (1911-2000) married Aaron Lawrence Musser
