Sheridan Lady Dies at 99

Mrs. Lola V. Rulapaugh, long time resident of Sheridan township passed away at 
the Clare Osteopathic Hospital Friday, January 12, following two weeks of 
illness.

She was born in Monroe, Michigan, daughter of Alvin and Katherine Root, 
December 19, 1868, and married Oscar Rulapaugh in Clare, August 5, 1889 who 
preceded her in death in 1935.

She had resided in Sheridan township for 94 years and was a member of the 
Clare Rebekah Lodge 167.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lucy Hewlet, Genessee, Mrs. Pansy Hunt, 
Flint; three sons, Willard, Saginaw, Nelson and Oscar of Clare, 26 
grandchildren, 77 great grandchildren and 22 great great grandchildren.

Rebekah services were held at the Stephenson Funeral Home on Sunday evening at 
8 p.m.  Funeral services were conducted there on Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. by 
Rev. Charles Hilliard, with burial in Cherry Grove Cemetery.
