These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations. _____________________________________________________________________________ *PHILLIP RIPENBURG DIES AT HARRISON WEDNESDAY EVE* Had Lived Near Clare and Coleman Nearly Sixty Years "Phillip RIPENBURG passed away Wednesday evening, January 4th, near Harrison at the age of 89 years. Death was caused by the infirmities of old age. The deceased was born in St. Catherine's, Ontario Canada on 13th February, 1849. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary FISH, near St. Catherine's the 7th of December, 1875. She preceded him in death on the 31st of March 1928. To this union four children were born: Mrs. Emma WHITE, who passed away at her home in Isabella County on the 5th of January, 1928; Mrs. Anna SHINABARGER of Lake City; George RIBENBURG of Flint; and Gordon RIBENBURG of this city. He came to this vicinity in 1879 and to Clare in 1904, where he did carpenter work for many years. Besides the three children, he is survived by eighteen grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at the Thurston Funeral Home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with interment in the Cherry Grove cemetery beside his wife."
