She was 8l. She is survived by her sister Frances Burzynski and husband Edward, her sisters- in-law, Martha Nowak and Angeline Nowak; numerous nieces and nephews; her religious community, the Servants of Jesus. Sister Rosalyn was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Monica Nowak of Gaylord, eight brothers and sisters: Sister Julianna Nowak CSSF, Celia Slivinski, Anna Crawford, Michael Simon, Peter, Andrew and John Nowak. In her 60 years of service to the Catholic Church, Sister Rosalyn taught at Mt. Carmel in Wyandotte, MI, Corpus Christi, St. Andrews, Our Lady of Refuge, St. Michael, St. Valentine, all in the Detroit area. She also taught at St. Louis in Cleveland, Ohio, St. Jude in Grand Rapids, MI., St Adalbert in South Bend, IN. She was also principal at St. Hedwig in Bay City, MI. Her last 30 years of service were as religious education director at St. Christopher in Bridgeport, MI and pastoral minister at St. Michael in Roscommon, MI and finally at St. Athanasius in Harrison, MI. Funeral arrangements for Sister Rosalyn are as follows: Visitation for family and friends in Harrison will be at Stocking Funeral Home (517-539- 7810) on Tuesday, February 13, 200l from 2-9 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at the Funeral Home. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 14, 200l at ll:00 am a St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Harrison, with Father Daniel Nowak O.F.M. officiating. Visitation will be held at Nelson Funeral Home in Gaylord on Thursday from 2-8 pm, with an Altar Rosary Society service at 3 pm. A Funeral Liturgy to be celebrated on Friday, February 16, at ll:00 am at St. Mary Cathedral, Gaylord. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery of Gaylord. Memorial contributions may be considered to Servants of Jesus Retirement Fund.
