W. Gerow Succums at Age of 83 Years, Funeral Held Sunday Stewart Wilson Gerow was born August 5, 1850 near Bellville, Ontario, eldest son of William and Mary Gerow. He came to Michigan in 1871 landing at Muskegon where he worked in the lumber woods near that city one winter, then came to Clare County and worked in the lumber woods winters and drove the rivers in the spring for a great many years. November 9th, 1879 he was united in marriage to Miss Albina A. Orvis. To this union was born ten children, four of whom preceded him in death. They bought and cleared a farm in Sheridan township and endured all the hardships of pioneer life. In 1922 they sold the farm and moved to Loomis, where he died April 28, after an illness of six months. He leaves to mourn their loss, his wife and six children, Jas. S., Inez Teale and Mary Hemstreet, all of Sheridan; Hildah Smith, of Otisville; Barnard L. And Allen Lloyd at home, also one brother, Allen Gerow of Clare, one sister, Mrs. Emily Cooney, of Sterling, Ont., 22 grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
