(Hawley) Spear, 80, of Lake, passed away Saturday, July 17, 1999 at her home. Ruth was born on July 12, 1919 the daughter of Paul and Dorothy (Horn) Yontz. She was united in marriage to Robert Stump. She was then married to James Hawley who preceded her in death on September 14, 1972. She then married R. T. Spear on April 9, 1983. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1990. Ruth was a member of the Lake Eagles Auxiliary 3761. She also was a member of the Alice L. Seeley Order of the Eastern Stars of Farwell, Michigan. Ruth is survived by her children, Bob and Annette Stump, Amos and Bev Stump and John and Diane Stump, all of Indiana; James A. Hawley of Farwell, Eddy and Val Hawley of Lake, David and Sharon Hawley of Saginaw and Thomas and Tammy Hawley of Lake; 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by two daughters, two grandchildren, and one half-sister and one brother. Funeral services for Ruth were held on Tuesday, July 20, 1999 from the Coker Funeral Home of Frwell with burial in the Garfield Township Cemetery.
