Baldwin Sprague, 79, of Harrison, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 1999, at Tendercare Nursing Home, Clare, Michgan. Ellen was born August l, 1919, in Shullsburg, Wisconsin, the daughter of Gerald and Harriett (Stephens) Haskell. Mrs. Sprague had resided in the Harrison area since 1969, moving from Traverse City. She was united in marriage to Carroll D. Baldwin February 14, 1943 in Red Bank, New Jersey. Mr. Baldwin predeceased her in March, 1967. Ellen was a member of the Harrison Church of God and a memer of the Women of the Moose, Chapter 1402, Harrison. She was employed by Harrison Community Schools as a School Bus Driver. Surviving are one son, Martin Baldwin and wife Sandy of Harrison; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two brothers, Ken Haskell and wife Betty of Clare and George Haskell and wife Mary of Harrison; two sisters, Marge Wireman and husband Harlan of Homer and Phyllis Bullard and husband Keith of Harrison; a sister-in-law, Sue Haskell of Florida plus several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by a brother Robert (Bob) Haskell. Memorial services were held Wednesday, August 4, 1999, at 2:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Pastor Bruce VonWald officiating. Services were conducted by officers and members of the Women of the Moose, Chapter 1402. Internment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Harrison, Michigan.
