David G. Steffs, age 47, of Farwell, passed away Wed., July 12, at his
home in Farwell.  David was born the son of Raymond and Mary June
(Fearn) Steffes on Nobember 17, 1952 in Detroit.  He married the former
Linda Rynikowski on April 23, 1976 in Inkster.  David had lived in the
Farwell area since coming from Westland in 1978.  David belonged to the
St. Cecilia Catholic Church.  He managed the Southwest Brake business in
Mt. Pleasant.  David was a member of the Clare Lions Club, a Little
League Coach, a Farwell Band booster, and a Boy Scout Leader.  David
loved hunting, fishing and woodworking.  He had a contractors License
and built his own house along with several others in the community.  To
his friends David was "Mr. Fix-it" with his family describing him as
Kind, Gentle and Well Liked.
      David is survived by his wife Linda, two children, David and Krista
of Farwell, two brohers, William (Patricia) of AuGres, and John
(Patricia) of Merritt Island, Fla; a sister Barbara (Douglas) Smith of
Swanton, OH.  David was precedeased by his parents and a sister Mary Ann
Madigan in 1987.
      Services were held on Saturday, July 15 at 9:00 a.m. at the St.
Cecilia Catholic Church with Father Joseph Ryan officiating.  Cremation
followed the service with burial of the cremains in the St. Cecilia
Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Family of David Steffes.
