Obituaries from the Clare County Cleaver, Harrison, MI, 7-20-2000

Emegean Mildred Steakley, 78 of Clare, passed away Saturday, July 8,
2000 at Tendercare Nursing Home of Clare.  Emegean was born December 3,
1921, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Houart.
      Mrs. Steakley was united in marriage to Clarence Steakley in 1939.
Mr. Steakley preceded Emegean on July 4 1996.
      Surviving are two grandsons; James Steakley of Rowell, Michigan and
John Steakley of Whitmore Lake, MI; her daughter in law, Judy Wilson and
husband Ray of Florida.  Mrs. Steakley was also preceded in death by her
parents, two sons, Jerome and Clarence Steakley.
      Graveside services were held on Friday July 14,2000 at l0:00 a.m.
from Surrey Township Cemetery, Farwell, with Elder Dale Beavers
officiating.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Stocking
Funeral Home, Harrison.
