Sutton, 84, of Clare, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, at her home in Clare. Violet was born the daughter of Ira A. and Eola M. (Thompson) Hitchcock on April 17, 1916 in Rosebush. Violet married Floyd Randle on December 7, 1934; she then married Manuel Sutton on January 27, 1957. Violet was a lifelong resident of the Clare area. She had worked for Muriel Houghton Drug store, Clarke Drugs, Holley Carburetor and Mannie's Bar. Violet attended the Brown Corners U.B. Church. She was a kind and loving mother, always willing to help others. Violet is survived by a son Robert (Linda Lea) Hitchcock of Clare and a daughter Shirley (Roger) Skutt of Corunna; also a step daughter, three sisters, Wilma Bradley, Margaret Randle, and Helen Cleveland; 8 grandchildren, 24 great grand children and four great-great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews and a host of friends also survive her. Her parents, her husband in 1967, a sister Ruth, three brother in laws, and two grandsons, Steven Frye and Karl Schaaf predeceased her. Services took place on Saturday, January 20 at l:00 pm at the Stephenson Wyman Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck Malson officiating. Burial took place in the Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare. Memorials may be made to the Brown Corners Church. The Stephenson Wyman Funeral Home, Inc. of Clare made arrangements.
