May 27, 1999 Margaret L. Stranahan, age 59 of Lake, passed away Friday, May 2l, 1999 in Flint. Margaret was born the daughter of Carl and Sophia (Skyrinski) Hill on July 2, 1939 in Flint. She married Richard P. Stranahan on November 10, 1956 in Flint, and he predeceased her on January 4, 1995. Margaret had worked as a Flushing Public School Secretary until her retirement. She had lived in the Clare County area since coming from Flushing in 1978. Margaret was involved in the Farwell VFW Womens Auxiliary, the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, and the Farwell Labor Day parade. Margaret was also very active in the Clare Church of God. Surviving Margaret is her son Frank (Bonnie) Stranahan of Battle Creek, her mother Sophia Hill of Columbiaville; a brother Otis (Ruthene) Hill of Old Fort, North Carolina, 4 sisters Joann (Russell) Smith of Flushing, Carole (William) Wolgast of Columbiaville, Ruthann (William) Draper of New Braunhfeis, TX, and Gloria Muchler, of Bay City; 3 grand children. Funeral Services were held Mondy, May 24, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at the Clare Church of God with Pastor Harold Owens officiating. Burial was in the Garfield Twp., Cemetery.
