The submitter has given permission to the MIGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. _____________________________________________________________________ Earl Newton Schell, 78, longtime Harrison resident, died December 8, 1999 at the MidMichigan Medical Center in Clare, Mi He was born March 25, 1921 in Attica, Mi, and was the son of the late Earl J. and Jean (David) Schell. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Army; 102nd Ozarks, 407th Infantry. He was awarded the Bronze Star for Heroic Valor during fighting in the European Theatre of Operations. He retired in May 1975 from the Teamsters Local 2399 as a truck driver for Jones Transfer. Mr. Schell was a good and honorable man and was the backbone of his family. He was a member of the VFW Post 1075 in Harrison. He was united in marriage in Pontiac on January 16, 1954 to Mary Francis (Winebrenner) Schell whom survives him. Surviving family members are wife Mary Schell of Harrison; son George Earl Schell of Gladwin; son Paul Joseph (Mindy) Schell of Interlochen; daughter Irene (Jack) Farrell of Oxford; niece Marion Grey of Florida; and niece Louise Nuffer of Bay City. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. The family is planning a private memorial service for a later date. Arrangements were made through Smith Family Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Harrison.
