Obituaries from Clare County Cleaver, Sept. 30.1999

Eugene "Gene" James Simons, age 67, of Harrison, passed away Wednesday,
September 22, 1999 at his home in Harrison.  Gene was born the son of
James R. and Emma M. (Steffins) Simons on June 19, 1932 in Riga,
Michigan.
He married the former Patricia Hannan on Sept. 25, 197l in Harrison.
Gene served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.  He worked in the
excavation business owning Simons Excavating.
    Gene is survived by his wife Patricia; two daughers, Molly Jo
(Michael) Fetzer of Lake, and Nina Simons of Harrison; his mother
Emma Simmons of Harrison, a sister Shirley (Rudy) Bolz of Gladwin; and
many other relatives and friends.  Gene was predeceased by his father
James in 1990.
    Services were held Sunday, September 26, 1999 at 2:00 pm at Faith
Lutheran Church in Harrison with Rev. Paul C. Fetzer officiating. 
Burial
was in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Harrison.  Arrangements by the
Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home, Inc., of Clare.
