Pleasant, following a ten day illness there. He was born the son of Christy and John [sic] Wood, August 17, 1877, in Clare County, and left Michigan when a young man to make his home near Seattle, Washington until 1944 when he returned here. He had made his home with his sister Mrs. Effie Harvey and family, since that time. Farming was his occupation, and he was a great lover of the out-of-doors. He will always be remembered by his friends and relatives for his kindness and consideration of others, always ready to give a helping hand, and during his stay at the hospital was considered as one of the model patients. His wife, Evelyn, of Spokane, Washington, preceded him in death also two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Rose Davis of Clare, Mrs. Mary Orvis, Jesse Wood, of Battle Creek, and Charles Wood of Walla Walla, Washington. Besides his sister Mrs. Harvey, he is survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Thurston Funeral Home at 2:00 o’clock with Rev. Virgil Brinkman officiating, and interment in the Harvey lot at Cherry Grove Cemetery.
