Cleaver, Harrison, Michigan, l-4-200l Violet Isabella (Petoskey) Wilson was born on April 5, 1915, the daughter of Cornelius and Florence (Flanagan) Petoskey. She was one of six children with brothers; Warren (wife Juanita) Petoskey and Wayne (wife Nancy) Petoskey, Alva Petoskey, Wendell Petoskey, and sister: Elaine Romes. Violet moved from Lansing to Harrison in 1930 where she met and married Charles Wilson. Together they raised four children, sons: Richard Wilson of Harrison, Edward (wife Sandy) Wilson of Gaylord, Carl Wilson and daughter, Mary R. (husband Jim) Gillespie of Harrison. Violet enjoyed hunting, fishing, crocheting, crafts and was very active in her church. She was independent and strong-willed. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who kept her friends close to her. Mrs. Wilson died on Thursday, December 28, 2000 at the age of 85. She leaves behind her children, Richard, Edward and Mary; brothers, sister, 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband and son, Carl, and two brothers, Alva Petroskey and Wendell Petosky. Visitation was held on Monday, January l, 200l at 2-8 pm with funeral services to celebrate her life on Tuesday, January 2, a ll:00 am with Pastor Bruce VonWald presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to the Harrison Church of God. Arrangements were entrusted to Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, Michigan.
