The submitter has given permission to the MIGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. _____________________________________________________________________ Obituary The Clare County Cleaver Inc., Harrison, Michigan Thursday, January 30, 1997 WILLIAM PFANNES William Pfannes, age 86, of Harrison, passed away on Jan. 20, 1997, at Northwoods Nursing Home in Farwell. Bill was born on July 7, 1910, in Hatton Township, Clare County, the son of John V. and Eva M. (Kraft) Pfannes. Mr. Pfannes had resided most of his life in Clare County. He retired from General Motors, Saginaw, in 1972, after 25 years of employment and was a member of the UAW local in Flint. Bill was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Harrison. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. William Pfannes was united in marriage to Ila (VanBlarcom) Brockway, February 24, 1973, in Harrison. (Marriage date is actually February 27, 1973). Surviving are his wife, Ila, of Harrison a brother, Richard Pfannes and wife Wanda, also of Harrison plus several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Pfannes was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Bess, Edward, Nick and a sister, Anna. Funeral services were held Thursday, January 23, 1997, at 11:00 a.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Father Jerome Niedermier officiating.
