OBITUARY:  VERNON BABBITT
        Vernon C. Babbitt, 74, of 14247 Grange Road, Eagle, passed away September
12, 1976 at a Lansing hospital.
        Mr Babbitt was a lifetime Eagle area resident. He was a retired employee
of Oldsmobile and a member of the North Eagle Cemetery society.
        Survivors include his wife, Lemoine; three sons, Ronald and Kenneth of
Grand Ledge and Robert of Lansing; two daughters, Mrs Geraldine Tupper of
Grand Ledge and Mrs Judith Stemler of Portland; one brother, Austin of
Eagle; 18 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
        Funeral services were Wednesday, September 15, 1976, at 2 p.m. at the
Peters & Murray funeral Home, Grand Ledge, with Rev. Floyd Cadill of the
Eagle four Square Gospel church officiating. Interment was in the North
Eagle cemetery.
