Lietzke, son of Martin and Henrietta Lietzke, was bom January 23, 1848, in Sarkow, Poland. In 1872, he came to America settling in Riley, Sandusky County, Ohio. He was united in marriage to Augusta Zischke in 1876. In 1880, they with their two children came to a farm near Dewitt, where they lived until a few years ago, when they moved to the village. He was a member of the Emmanual M. E. church, having joined when Rev. K. Wehnis was pastor. While in the church, he was recording , steward for many years and was very active in the Sunday School. He departed this life on May 12, 1922, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Albert Cook, in Watertown. .Tie leaves to mourn their loss, his good 'wife, two daughters, Mrs. Alfred Burke and Mrs. Albert Cook, both of Watertown, five sons, Frank, Henry, and Louis of Dewitt, Edward of East Lansing, and Reinhardt of Watertown, fifteen grand children, two brothers, William of Ohio and Theo of Olive and one sister, Mrs. Johanna Zischke of Watertown and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral was held at Dewitt M. E. Church Sunday afternoon, May 14. Rev. Ellinger, assisted by Rev. Seipp officiating. The singers were Mrs. John Henning, Mrs. Rhinie Henning, Edward Klaver and Alfred Voltz, with Miss Mildred Kanupp at the piano. Burial was made in the Dewitt Cemetery. We speak of the realms of the blest, That country so bright and so fair, And oft, are its glories confessed— But what must it be to be there. Do Thou, Lord, midst pleasures and woe, For Heaven our spirits prepare? Then soon shall we Joyfully know, And feel what it is to be there. CARD OF THANKS The family of the late Gustavus L.
