Unknown Newspaper Clipping
  Delbert L. Ransom passed away at his home in this village last Thursday 
night Feb, 20 at 11 o'clock, age 59 years. Mr. Ransom had been in very poor 
health for a long time and his death was not unexpected.
  He was born in Lorrain County, Ohio, Jan, 26, 1849. At the age of seven 
years he moved with his parents to Henry County, Ohio, and in 1861 he came to 
Michigan, locating in Greenbush township, Clinton County.
  At the age of nineteen he was married to Mary Wickus, who survives him, and 
to this union were born two sons, John and Frank both of whom reside in this 
village. Five Grandaughters are also left to mourn his departure. Mr Ransom 
was a member of the I.O.O.F. for fifteen years. Funeral services were held 
Sunday at the Maple Rapids Christian Church, Rev P.L. Ryker officiating, and 
internment was made in the cemetery at Eureka.
