Lansing State Journal, January 6, 1947
Portland, Jan. 6-Lewis Albert Schlarf, Sr., 82, died at St. Lawrence hospital 
Friday morning after a long illness. 
Besides his widow, Rose A., he is survived by four sons, Lewis D. Schlarf and 
Earnie Schlarf of Florida, Harold Schlarf of California and Howard Schlarf of 
St. Johns, two step-daughters, Mrs. Rena Tucker and Mrs. Reva Ingraham of 
Lansing and one step-son, Charles Boyden of Portland and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from Neller funeral home at 2:30 
o'clock.  Rev. George Stanford officiating. Interment in the Portland 
cemetery.

The article lists his son as Earnie, this was not my typo.
