The funeral was held at Pewamo the following Tuesday and burial was at East Plains Cemetery, Lebanon. Mr. Vance was one of the first white children born in Lebanon, and with the exception of the years he spent in the Civil War, and a few years passed in the village of Pewamo, his entire life was spent in the township".
