Wilson. Despite her advanced age—she observed her 91st birthday last May —Mrs. Wilson remained keenly aware of dally affairs and her interest and enthusiasm was always an inspiration to those about her. Coming to this city some 50 years ago she became an active member of St. John’s Episcopal church and continued as a faithful worker until declining years made further participation impossible. She was 'a kind and loving mother and had many friends. A few weeks ago Mrs. Wilson became ill at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Una Ball, where she passed away Friday afternoon. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. Keith Chidester at the Episcopal church Sunday afternoon and burial was made in Mt. Rest cemetery. Surviving are the daughter, Mrs. Ball, and two sons, Edwin H. and Arthur E. Wilson, all of this city; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Sarah Jane Earl was born to Ephraim and Milinda Ann Robbins Earl, of English ancestry, at Pontiac, Michigan, May 15, 1842, the second of a family of six children. She was married August 14, 1862, to Hamilton Wilson and after living one year at Pontiac they moved to Flint where Mr. Wilson established a monument works. The year 1883 marked their coming to St. Johns where her husband who died soon afterward, joined with Henry Smith of Lapeer in founding the clothing store business which still bears the Wilson name.
