Benjamin S. Griswold to By Adm. Hugh McDivitt "Know all Men by these
Presents, That We Richmond Briggs and George W. Welsh administrators of
the Estate Benjamin S. Griswold late of Concord Jackson County Michigan,
deceased pursuant to an Order of the Judge of the Court of Probate for
the County of Jackson and Sate of Michigan held at the Probate Office in
the City of Jackson in said County and State on the thirteenth day of November
in the year of our Lord one-thousand eight hundred and seventy two authorizing,
empowering and licensing us to sell at Public Auction, in conformity to
the Statute in such case made and provided, Sufficient of the Real Estate
whereof said deceased died seized, for the purpose in said Order mention
we did sell at Public Auction, held at Grisworlds Saw Mill in the Town
of Brookfield in the County of Eaton and State aforsaid, pursuant to legal
notice, all the estate, right, title and interest of said Benjamin S. Griswold,
deceased of, in and to certain Real Estate and promises in said Order set
forth and hereinafter described, to Hugh McDivitt of Parma Jackson County,
Michigan he. . .being the highest bidder. . . therfor; which said sale
was made by on Order of said Judge of Probate on Fourth day of February
in the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three duly confirmed,
and we the said Richmond Briggs and George W. Welch so such administrators
directed therin to execute acknowledge and deliver a proper conveyance
or conveyance of said Real Estate so sold to the purchaser therof agreeably
to the Statute in such case made and provided. .......sum of Six hundred
and fifty dollars paid to us by said Hugh McDevitt .......The East half
of the south west quarter of section twenty eight in town, one ? of range
four west in the County of Eaton State of Michigan
signed twentyfifth day of February A.D. one thousand eight hundred and
seventy three
