OBITUARY: GEORGE AMES
        George Ames was born in Ohio, May 13, 1866, and moved to Michigan with his
parents who settled in Chester Township in 1874. He was married to Lillie
Mae Root, April 16, 1893. He died October 21, 1905. He leaves a wife, one
little daughter, Gertrude Mae Ames, a father, mother, two brothers and many
friends to mourn their loss. The funeral was held at his home in Grand
Ledge Tuesday at eleven o'clock, Rev. Doty officiating, burial was at
Mulliken Cemetery.
