Barnard, 220 N. Sheldon Street, Charlotte, died at Hayes Green Beach Hospital, Sunday, September 17 at the age of 82. He was born September 4, 1885 at Fowlerville the son of Edward and Lucy Barnard. In his younger years he owned and operated a threshing machine in the Fowlerville area. Later he pursued his trade as a mechanic. He married Irene Horton and nine children were born to this union. After moving to Charlotte he was employed at Clark Equipment Company in Battle Creek until his retirement in 1964. Besides his wife Irene he is survived by a sister, Elsie Barnard Barry of Lansing, five sons Harry Jr., Dean and Marshall of Charlotte, Darwin of Lansing and Alden of Freeport; four daughters, Mrs. Harold Saunders Jr., Dorene Barnard, Charlotte, Mrs. Denzel Mann Gresham and Mrs. David Esterline of Jonesville, twenty-four grandchildren and one great grandchild also one niece Mrs. John M. Dewey of Lansing. Services are being held today (Wednesday) at the Pray Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. in Charlotte. Interment at Greenwood cemetery, Potterville at 4:00.
