Baker, 90, of Vermontville died Dec. 13, 1993, at Hayes Green Beach Hospital, Charlotte. Mrs. Baker was born April 1, 1903, in Vermontville, the daughter of Hiram & Emma Grant. She graduated from Vermontville H.S. and dietician school in Flint. She was a dietician at Hurley Hospital, Flint, until she married Jesse Baker in Battle Creek Jan. 9, 1937. She farmed with her busband in Vermontville for many years. She was a member of the Vermontville Congregational Church and its Ladies Christian Association, Vermontville Garden Club, was a life member of the Kalamo Eastern Star, and a former member of the Vermontville Eastern Star. She was a community volunteer for many projects, especially her church. She recently completed a Bible study course from Andrews University at Berrien Springs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse,Oct.26, 1982; one sister, Nora McNabb; and two brothers, Grover and Lynn Grant. Services were Dec. 15 at the Vermontville Congregational Church. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Vermontville..
