She was married to Mr. Betts January 14, 1892, who with one daughter survives. Hers was a kind and cheerful disposition, beloved by all who knew her. She leaves besides the husband and daughter, an aged father and mother, Mr and Mrs Orrin Clapper of Vermontville, five brothers, John and Orlie Clapper of Petoskey Michigan, Lewis and Barney Clapper of Garden City, Minnesota and Stephen Clapper of Chester; also four sisters, Mesdames Emma Farr and Maggie Sager of Vermontville, Mrs Anna Webster of Petoskey and Mrs Lizzie Snyder of Chester. One sister, Mrs Rose Johnson, having preceded her to the higher life only six months ago. She also leaves a host of friends who extend to the bereaved family their most sincere and heartfelt sympathy. Mrs Betts was a member of the Esmarelda Hive No. 604, of the Ladies of the Modern Maccabees.
