BELL Roswell A Bell was born June seventeeth 1843 in Virgil, Cortland county, New York. He came to Homer Michigan with his parents when ten years of age and later moved to Oceana County. In 1864 he married Irene L. Webster. To this union were born four children Joseph Bell of LaPorte, Indiana, Charles Bell and Lillie Keefer of Roxand township, and Frank E Bell. He moved with his family to his farm east of Mulliken in 1872. Mrs Bell passed away June 14, 1905. Later he married Mrs Grace Swimeley. They moved to Mulliken in 1917 where Mrs Bell departed this life October 4, 1925. Since this time Mr. Bell has made his home with his daughter Mrs. Roy Keefer south of Mulliken, where he passed away February 21, 1930, at the age of 86 years 8 months and four days, after an illness of seven weeks. He is survived by four children seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one brother R.C. Bell. Funeral services were held at the Keefer home Monday afternoon, Rev. Hoffman of Sunfield officiated and burial was in Danby Cemetery. The beautiful floral offerings and the large crowd of relatives and friends that gathered to pay their last respects, testified to the high esteem in which Mr Bell was held in this community. He was a man of retiring disposition but honored and respected by a large circle of friends. He was for many years a member of the United Brethren Church. Bell of DeWitt, Mr and Mrs Alexander and three children of Lansing, Mr and Mrs Joseph Garner and two children of Flint, Frank Palmer and Mr and Mrs Huntoon and grand daughter from Holton, Mr and Mrs Percy SNell and D.F. Dutcher of Battle Creek. June 1905 OBITUARY. Irene L Webster was born in Camden, Hillsdale Co., October 10, 1847, and died at the family residence in Roxand June 14, 1905. She was married to R.A. Bell, October 10, 1864. Four children, three sons and once daughter, were born to them, all of whom are living; Joseph R., Frank E., Charles A., and Lillie. The family moved to Roxand, Eaton county in 1872, where Mrs Bell made many friends by her kindly spirit and genial disposition. For many years Mr and Mrs Bell were active members of the United Brethren church, and she passed away with a birht and glorious hope of sweet rest in heaven. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Isaiah Wilson at the family home. Interment was made in Danby cemetery. dz
