She was married to Sidney Brown at Chesaning, Saginaw County, May 19, 1859 and went to live on a farm in Eckford, Calhoun County, Michigan, moving to her old home in Sunfield in about 1867, moving here when the country was new, she being an old pioneer. Nearly all the old settlers have gone to their reward, only three left that lived here when she first come. Mrs Brown was the mother of nine children, six living near the old homestead, the other three having preceded their mother, all dying in infancy. Those left are M. A. Brown, who has always lived at home; Mrs J. K. Hunter, C. A. Brown, Mrs Milton Hager, Mrs C. O. VanBuren and Mrs Homer Van Buren, also 11 grandchildren and two great grand children. She also leaves her husband and two brothers. She was a great sufferer for 8 years, all of which she bore with great patience. Was a member of the First Brethren Church of Sunfield, and although unable to attend church on account of poor health, always kept her faith, said she was ready any time the good Master called. The funeral was held at the house, Rev. Wynn officiating, December 4, 1912, and she was laid to rest in the Sunfield cemetery.
