Brown SHORT ILLNESS TAKES C. A. BROWN Supervisor 14 Years, Manager Shipping Association 11 Years, Director Michigan Livestock Exchange. Charles A. Brown died at his home in this village last week Thursday afternoon, after a short illness. Mr. Brown had been a resident of Sunfield village eleven years and of Sunfield Township since three years of age. At the time of his death, Mr Brown was supervisor of Sunfield Township, an office he had held 14 years, was manager of the Sunfield shipping association, a position he had held since its organization 11 years ago, and was a director of the Michigan Livestock Exchange. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and also of the I. O. O. F. and Rebekah lodges. He was held in high esteem by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed in the community. Following is the obituary: Charles A. Brown was born at Eckford, Calhoun County, Michigan, July 27, 1865; and departed from this life January 9, 1930. At the age of three years he moved with his parents to the Brown homestead near Saubee Lake, and spent his entire life in that community until eleven years ago when he moved to Sunfield village. He was united in marriage to Miss Emma Shaffer in 1885. To this union were born four children, Roy of Oklahoma, Delphi who departed this life five years ago, Mrs Edna Ward of Lansing and Sydney of Grand Ledge. Mrs Brown passed away in 1903 and in August 1908 Mr Brown was married to Mrs Edith Hulett Preston. Left to mourn their loss is the wife, two sons, one daughter, one stepdaughter, eight grandchildren, four sisters and one brother, besides many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held from the home Sunday at 11 o'clock with Rev. Gay of Greenville officiating. Interment was at the Sunfield cemetery.
