All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/mi/mifiles.htm ************************************************ Funeral services for Charles Coppess, 57, of Round Lake Rd., Sunfield, were conducted Wednesday, May 18, 1977 from the Mapes-Fisher Funeral Home in Sunfield. Mr. Coppess passed away May 15 at the St. Lawrence Hospital in Lansing. Mr. Coppess was born in Sunfield Twp. on Oct. 28, 1919, and was the son of George and May (Gallupp) Coppess. He was a life-long resident of the Sunfield area and was a farmer. On Aug. 12, 1942 he married Theda Penfold. Mr. Coppess was a member of the Sunfield United Brethren Church and had been on the church board, served on the school board eight years and had been vice president, and active in the Fellowship of Christian Athlete. He had been chosen as "Parent of the Year" for his support of athletics at Ferris State College. He had been associated with the Boy Scouts and the 4-H. Officiating at the 2pm rites were the Rev. John Harkness of the Jackson St. United Brethren Church of Breckenridge and the Rev. Carl Olson of Sunfield. Singers were Rev.& Mrs. William Dondit. Interment was in Sunfield Cemetery.
