WILLIAM HENRY DAVIS
        VERMONTVILLE-William Henry Davis, 81, retired farmer, and a resident of
this vicinity for 71 years, died Saturday evening at the home of Elmer
Norris following an illness of six weeks. Mr. Davis is survived by one son,
Elston, Vermontville's fire chief; a stepson, Ernest Rolfe of Flint; a
brother Lafe of Chester township; a sister. Mrs Cora Fowler of Battle
Creek, and several nieces and nephews. He was born Jan. 14, 1869, at
Sandusky, Ohio, the son of John and Mary (Sebrill) Davis. Services will be
conducted from the Ward chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Lorne Lee
and burial will be in the Millerberg cemetery near Charlotte.
