She had tried to take her life on the Tuesday before by hanging and by jumping into a cistern but was not successful in either attempt. Sunday evening some neighbors called and Mrs Dilley prepared a lunch and left the house. It was supposed that she would return in a minute or two but, as she did not, search was immediately commenced. After about two hours of search her body was found in the creek about 40 rods from the house, where she had drowned herself. Mrs Dilley was undoubtedly in a demented condition, which accounts for her rash act. Her condition was brought on by sickness but had only been for a short time back. About two weeks ago a doctor was called to attend her and he had advised them to keep a close watch of her. This they endeavored to do but she succeeded in getting away when least expected. Mrs Dilley was 35 years old and leaves her husband and six children. Her maiden name was Nettie Tomilson and she has always lived in this vicinity. Funeral services were held at the Dow church Wednesday at 12 o'clock.
