FLEETHAM DIES Joseph L. Fleetham, son of Jack and Elizabeth Fleetham, was born July 26, 1863, in Sunfield Township on the farm now owned by Fay Gragg and departed this life May 11, 1936, at the age of 72 years, 10 months, and 10 days at the home of Mrs Nancy Linhart where Mr and Mrs Fleetham were staying to care for Mrs Linhart. On February 24, 1901, Mr Fleetham was united in marriage to Miss Jennie McKinney of Grand Rapids. To this union were born two sons, William B. and John R., who reside in Sunfield. He bought the Reeder homestead where he lived nearly all his life and in 1917 he moved to Sunfield and was engaged in the restaurant business. In 1926 he moved to Mulliken and spent two years, then moved back to Sunfield. He leaves to mourn their loss a loving wife, two sons, one brother, Edgar Fleetham of Sunfield, one sister, Mrs Sarah Nichols of Charlotte beside a host of friends. He was a loving husband and father and a good neighbor. Charlotte Tribune May 15, 1936 NORTHEAST SUNFIELD Joseph Fleetham, a life long and well respected resident of this community, passed away early Monday morning, after suffering a paralytic stroke on Friday. Grand Ledge Independent May 15, 1936 JOE FLEETHAM Joe Fleetham, formerly of Mulliken, died at his home in Sunfield Monday morning. He suffered a stroke of paralysis Friday. He is survived by the widow and two sons. Also one brother Edgar of Sunfield and a sister Mrs Sarah Nichols of Charlotte.
