R. Preston, was born November 27, 1876, in Roxand Township, Eaton County, Michigan, residing until at 11 years of age she moved with her parents to Sunfield, Eaton County. On October 21, 1897, she was united in marriage to Eugene Flewelling of Bismarck. To this union were born three girls, Velma, Vera and Veda all of whom survive the mother. She passed peacefully away at her home near Bismarck March 29, 1910. Mrs. Flewelling had been a constant but patient sufferer, for two years, and was ready and willing to depart this life. She became a Christian about one year ago. She was a kind and loving wife and mother and besides a bereaved husband and children she leaves her father and mother of Lake Odessa, two sisters, Mrs Homer Duel of Sunfield, Mrs Milo Duel of Danby and one brother Jerry Preston of Sunfield besides a host of friends. The funeral services were held at the home. Rev. Ray W. Merrill officiated. The burial was at the Freemire cemetery.
