He grew to manhood in his community and was educated in the Hunter school. In early life he united with the Sunfield Church of the Brethren and died in a victorious faith. Two daughters, Ardia Arlene and Iva Alena were born to this union. Mr Frantz is survived by his wife and two daughters; three brothers, Levi of Vermontville, John of Flint, and Moses of Sunfield, and a sister, Mrs Anna Reisinger of Dixon Illinois; besides a large circle of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sarah. Nicholas Frantz was afflicted for thirteen. September 19, 1937, he received the service of the church in being anointed. This administration brought him a great comfort and satisfaction. In his last days he often spoke of the great spiritual blessings which came to him, and every day prayed "Dear Jesus, help me to love thee more" and "Dear Father, take me home." He was a man of quiet temper and of a kindly disposition. His large interest lay in a devotion to his family and to the betterment of conditions in his community. The funeral was held at the Church of the Brethren Sunday afternoon, October 3rd. Rev. H. V. Townsend of Woodland officiating assisted by Rev. D. H. Keller of Battle Creek.
