The residents of Vermontville were startled Monday evening by the information that Frank Hull was dead. For several days he had complained of not feeling well and Monday morning did not get up as usual. He complained of a severe pain in the back of his head and said he would keep still and perhaps would be better after awhile. Mrs Hull and Miss Hazel went up to the room to see him every few moments and got him a drink of water several times. During the forenoon he sent Hazel down to the store to get some bromo quinine tablets but was unable to retain them. About four o'clock Hazel went to his room and found him breathing in an unnatural manner. She told her mother and Mrs Hull went for Dr. Stegeman, who came at once and began to use every effort to arouse him. Dr. Snell was sent for latter but the continual efforts of the two were of no avail. It is supposed that the pain in his head was so severe that he took some morphine tablets and in his efforts to relieve the pain took an overdose. A jury composed of Jay Ward, Ernest Jones, Elmer Hammond, H. E. Cross, J. J. Wood and H. C. Zemke was impaneled by Justice Benedict, and their verdict after an autopsy had been compacted by Dr. Stegeman and Snell was, "We find that the said Frank B. Hull came to his death by taking morphine to relieve pain. Frank B. Hull was forty-five years of age on June 19th and has always resided in Vermontville. He is survived by his wife, son and daughter and one brother. Word has been received from Fred Hull who is in Southern Florida that he cannot come. No word has been received, as yet from Herman Hull who is at present off the pacific coast of Maine on his ship. It is expected the funeral will be held Thursday afternoon.
