Holton George A. Holton, a pioneer resident of this township, died at his home south of town Wednesday August 11, 1915 Paralysis being the cause of death. Mr Holton had been in poor health for some time and for two weeks prior to his death was worse than usual. At 11 O'clock Wednesday he was stricken with Parallysis and died about 4 O'clock the same day. Dr Peacock and Dr. Crawford were both called but medical skill was of little avail. Mr Holton had lived in Vermontville and vicinity about fourty (40) years. Mr Holton was born in Penfield, Calhoun Co. October 3, 1846 and died in Sunfield, Eaton Co. Michigan, August 11, 1915. He was married to Ruthilda L. Wing in 1868. To this union were born 10 children, 6 boys and 4 girls. Almond V. Holton of Sunfield, John S. Holton of Climax, Mrs Plynn Ward of Sebewa, Peter Holton of Sunfield, Loren Holton Of Vermontville, George A. Holton Jr. of Sunfield, Mrs Alex Laing of Mulliken, Mrs George Carey of Vermontville, Mrs Dennis Joppie of Sunfield, Charles N. Holton of Sunfield. He also leaves to mourne their loss 5 sisters and l brother. Funeral was held Saturday at the house at l O'clock. Rev. Stone of Woodbury officiating. Burial was at Sunfield Cemetery..
