He was born in DeKalb county, Indiana, August 6, 1852, making him 53 years, 6 months and 16 days at the time of his death. In 1876 he married Elsie Josephine Newton, and to this union nine children were born, five of whom are living, three daughters and two sons. In 1880 he moved with his family to this state, where he resided till his death. He was a kind and thoughtful husband and father, always thinking of other's comfort, before his own. Besides his wife and children he leaves four brothers and one sister and a large circle of friends to mourn his death. Funeral was held from the church, Sunday, at 10:30 a. m., Rev. Richtmyre officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Perry cemetery. Those who attended the funeral from away were: Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Keesler and child, of Stanton, Mich.; James Keesler, of Antwerp, O., and Bert Keesler, of Ind., also Seneca Newton and three daughters of Springport.
