Mrs. Mary Ann Kelly, a pioneer resident of this county, died at the home of her son, Charles, on the old homestead, on the town line between Eagle and Westphalia, on Tuesday, February 18, 1892, from general breaking down, aged 81 years. She became a resident of Clinton county in about the year 1847, and up to the time of her husband's death, about 27 years ago, she lived upon the old farm, since which date she has spent her time with her children, who are: Mrs. Geo. W. Arnold, of St. Johns; Mr. John Kelly, now of Durand; Mrs. Mary Rose and Chester Kelly, of Westphalia; Mrs. Martha J. Mansfield and Horace Kelly, of Muskegon county; Mrs. Joel Whitlock and Mrs. Ezra Densmore, of Ionia county, and Ellenor Kelly, of McBride, Mich. She was an Adventist, and very faithful to the cause. Her funeral and burial took place in Eagle township, on Saturday last, and was attended by a large concourse of relatives and friends. Members of the family desire us, in this connection, to thank the kind friends and neighbors who so willingly and faithfully assisted them during the illness and burial of this dear parent.
