News Stanton G. "Pete" Moore, 79, of Charlotte died Oct. 24, 1990, at his residence after an extended illness. Mr. Moore was born in Battle Creek and had been a Charlotte resident for 75 years. He was the owner/operator of Moore's Glass in Charlotte, retiring in 1976 after 41 years in business. He was a 1931 graduate of Charlotte High School, served in the U.S. Army during World War II, attaining the rank of sargeant. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Heroic Service. He was a member of Maple City Post #2406 Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Greenawalt-Flaherty Post #42 American Legion, a charter member of the Eaton County Buck Club, and a member of the Tri-County Office on Aging. He is surved by one daughter; two sons; two grandchildren; a special friend; two sisters; and one brother. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Alberta, in 1984. Services were held Oct. 27 at the Lawrence Avenue United Methodist Church, Charlotte. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte. Military graveside services were conducted by Maple City Post #2406 VFW and Greenawalt-Flaherty Post #42 American Legion. Arrangements were made by the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte.
