He was a man that was well liked and was widely known through this section for his honesty and square dealing. Following is the obituary: George W. Meyers, son of Ziba and Elizabeth Meyers, was born in Ohio, September 30, 1845, and departed this life March 12, 1932, at the age of 86 years, five months and 18 days, at his home in Sunfield. The deceased has been a resident of Sunfield and vicinity for the past 42 years. He has led a Christian life from a young man and was loved by his children and all who knew him. He was united in marriage to Nancy Jane Pickins, January 30, 1870, who departed this life August 9, 1901. To this union was born four children: Mertie Peabody of Grand Ledge, Clara Brimmingstaull, of Mulliken, Charles Meyers of Northville, and Mary Koose, deceased, who proceded in death in September 12, 1914. He was united in marriage August 16, 1902 to Miss Florence Williams whom he leaves to mourn his departure, besides his three children, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the United Brethren church, conducted by Rev. A. Hoffman of Charlotte, he was assisted by Rev. J.I. Batdorff and Rev. Don H. Carrick.
