Last Saturday the body, accompanied by her mother, Mrs Anna Marsh, and Mr. and Mrs Willis Bishop, arrived in Vermontville from California when the body was taken to Woodlawn cemetery were it was placed in its final resting place in the family lot, Rev. Robert Daizell conducting short services at the grave. The following tribute from a San Diego paper was published at the time of her passing away last December. CALLED HOME Edna Louise Marsh, daughter of Anna B. Marsh and the late Rev. Henry Marsh, passed away a the home of her mother, in La Mesa, California, December 21st, 1912. Two years ago the deceased came to California in search of health, and for eighteen months she was with her mother, lived at the home of her uncle, E. E. Benedict, in San Diego. In June last, Mrs Marsh purchased a home in La Mesa, where the past six months have been spent. A brief service was held at her mother's home before the remains were taken to the home of her uncle in San Diego where the funeral was conducted on Monday morning, December 23, Dr. Thorp, of the First Congregational Church, who officiated, closed his service with Terryson's "Crossing the Bar," one of her favorite poems. By her request the selections, "Abide With Me" and Jerusalem, the Golden," were sung by La Mesa friends. Beautiful floral offerings were the tribute from many friends. Every comfort possible has surrounded the sick one during her illness. Throughout the past two years hopes and fears have alternated until a few weeks since all realized that the end was near. Edna had her ambitions for life and wanted to recover. Alone the battle was fought. Longing for life here was exchanged for a desire for the life beyond. A sweet Christian faith triumphed. A bright sunny disposition, a genial personality and a supreme unselfishness were characteristics, which endeared her to her many friends.
