Mr Peabody passed away unexpectedly at his home on Grand Ledge Highway Friday night, October, 25, 1968. James Lee Peabody was born in the same house that he died in. He was the son of Nathan and Sarah (Chamblin) Peabody. He was an employee of the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad. Mr Peabody was a life member of Sunfield F&AM Lodge 455, and a member of the DeWitt-Clinton Consistory and Saladin Shrine at Grand Rapids. Surviving are his wife,, a son,, a sister, and a brother,and four grandchildren. The Rev. Carl Olson pastor of the Oneida Gospel Church, officiated at the 2 p.m. service. Graveside Masonic rites were conducted by Lodge 455. Interment was in Sunfield Cemetery. Casketbearers were don Claflin, Harold Hanna, Don Bosworth, Merton Hager, Leo Wilcox and Jerry Schray.
