She and Mr and Mrs Leonard Brown resided in the home a little over a mile east of town known as the Bona Peabody house. She had been in poor health for some time but up and about. Friday night she returned home from a visit with a granddaughter in Lansing and went to bed about midnight. When she did not get up Saturday morning, an investigation was made and found she had passed away during the night of heart trouble. Sarah Gladeus Peabody, only daughter of Thomas and Ada Chamblin, was born October 10, 1884, at Noble County, Indiana, and passed away February 12, 1949 at her home in Sunfield Township, at the age of 64 years, four months and two days. She was married to Nathan Peabody March 5, 1902, and to this union three children were born, two sons, Lee and Lynn, and one daughter, Hildred. The husband, Nathan, passed away in May 1928 and her twin brother died in infancy. She leaves to mourn their loss, the sons, Lee and Lynn, of Sunfield and the daughter, Hildred Hynes, of Lake Odessa, and five grandchildren. The funeral services were held at the Mapes funeral home Monday afternoon, Rev. Don Carrick officiating. Interment in the Sunfield Cemetery.
