"Jack" Perkins, 46, of Bellevue, died on Feb. 18, 1989, at Browerd General Hospital, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He had been a patient since Jan. 30 and had been in ill health for two years. Mr. Perkins was born in Detroit and moved to Bellevue in 1977. He was a graduate of Wayne State University with a degree in accounting. He had worked for the Grand Trunk Western Railroad from 1971 to 1988, resigning because of health. He had worked for VISTA with the mentally handicapped in West Virginia and was active in the civil rights movement and the Democratic Party. He had been active at Woodmere Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife; two daughters; his mother; two sisters and one brother. Services were Feb. 22 at Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue.
