When she was five years of age her parents moved to Illinois, latter to Concord, Michigan. In 1867 she was married to Robert Kirby. In 1873 they came to Vermontville and located on the farm that has since been her home. In early life she became a member of the Episcopal church. She was a member of the L. O. T. M. M. of this village, an earnest worker and a devoted sister. She was a lady possessing noble attainments. A loving mother, a faithful friend. Those who knew her best loved her most. She passed from the shadow of long suffering to the peaceful and brilliant life of the future at her home Saturday morning, July 4th. On July 6th she was laid to rest in Woodlawn cemetery by the side of her husband who had preceded her over the river about six years. Worden Her parents are buried in Climax/Scotts, Kalamazoo county, Michigan. She was the grandaughter of Henry Randall and Ann Stone. She married Robert Kirby and had one known son, George Kirby. George had four daughters, and they married. The four daughters married as follows; Irma Kirby Crawe lived in the Flint, Michigan area; Bernice Kirby Sanders lived in the Kalamazoo, Mich. area; Alice Kirby Chadwick lived in the Minneapolis, Minn. area; Dorothy Kirby Brown lived in the Lanama, California area.
